Ethics

I have been a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) since 2001 and work in accordance with its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am fully qualified and BACP accredited as a counsellor and therapist and completed a BACP accredited training in 2005.

This means that although I believe myself to be an ethical practitioner, if there is an issue of concern or a complaint about me or my practice that cannot be resolved directly with me, you could raise these issues with BACP, my professional body.

As part of my work with the charity WITNESS Against Abuse I offered help in taking complaints forward and support/counselling to people who had experienced abuse in counselling and psychotherapy. So, I believe, I am fairly sensitive to issues that may be of concern to clients, or anxieties that they may have about coming for counselling in the first place.
